HOW LONG DOES THE HAIR NEED TO BE GROWN OUT?The hair growth needs to be grown out to 1/4 inch, about the size of a grain of rice. This is equivalent to about two weeks of no shaving.
-
WHAT KIND OF WAX IS USED?I use a hard stripless wax that contains chamomile extract to help soothe the skin. Hard wax is not only more gental on the skin, but from personal experience and my clients, it hurts less than other methods.
-
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I WAX?There are different recommendations for different parts of the body: Face: Every 2-3 weeks Underarms: Every 2-6 weeks. I personally feel, the longer you can wait in-between underarm waxes, the longer the results will be. Bikini Area: Every 3-4 weeks Additional Body Services: Every 3-4 weeks

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF WAXING?There are many benefits to waxing. First, waxing exfoliates the skin which is always helpful to maintain clear skin. Waxing helps thin out the hair, by pulling the hair out at the roots, and eventually like some of my clients, they no longer grow about 90% of hair anymore in the areas we wax! Waxing also helps prevent ingrown hairs, again by pulling the hair out at the roots rather than shaving, the hair is thin and less likely to get stuck under the skin... With the proper after care of course.
-
WHAT WILL I EXPECT AFTER MY FIRST TIME WAXING?After your first wax, your skin will be irritated and possibly red. I apply an ingrown hair serum that helps reduce the redness and prevent ingrowns at the same time. This will only last a couple of hours and you should be back to normal the next day. It is expected to have hair growth within a week or 2, that's just because those hairs are on a different hair cycle. DO NOT SHAVE. We will get those hairs at your next appointment. You hair growth will be on the same cycle by your 4th wax.
-
IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD DO BEFORE MY WAXING APPOINTMENT?I recommend no exfoliation the day of waxing, but 2-3 days before you appointment is okay. A a shower before the appointment is always a good idea to help soften the hair and make sure the area you're getting waxed is clean. Always make sure you aren't using any products for acne or any creams that contain Retin-A, because waxing while using these products may tear the skin so I advise to stop using acne medications 6 months before waxing, and Retin-A creams need to be stopped one week before your wax. And as always make sure you have enough hair growth to get the smoothest wax possible.
-
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY WAX APPOINTMENT?Always wear loose fitting clothes so you don't cause more irritation or chaffing.
-
SHOULD I SHAVE BETWEEN APPOINTMENTS?NO. You will interrupt your hair growth cycles which means more hair at your next waxing appointment. You'll never be able to get the full benefits of waxing if you shave in between appointments.
-
WILL I GET INGROWN HAIRS?It's possible, but it is always recommended to keep up with your skincare at home to maintain healthy skin and to prevent ingrown hairs. During your wax we will talk about preventative measures to ensure you have the best knowledge to prevent ingrown hairs.
-
HOW DO I PREVENT INGROWN HAIRS?On the day of your wax, avoid: - Tight clothing, may cause inflammation or chaffing. - Exercise: sweating while the pores are open can clog your pores and cause ingrown hairs. - Tanning beds and direct sun exposure. 48-72 hours after your wax: You may exfoliate, which will help slough off dead skin and rejuvenate your skin cells. Exfoliation is recommended 2-3 times per week. Using a great non-comedogenic body wash is going to be a major key in preventing ingrown hairs, as a body wash is supposed to cleanse the skin. Some brands do clog the pores and cause ingrown hairs. Last but not least, using an ingrown hair product like Tend Skin everyday after your shower is always a good idea.
-
WHAT IS A LASH LIFT?A lash lift is essentially a perm for your lashes. It lifts and curls them, or if you have really curly lashes it will help straighten them out a bit and be more relaxed.
-
CAN I GET A LASH LIFT IF I HAVE SHORT LASHES?Yes! I have different size rods that help me lift clients with any size lashes. Now keep in mind they will not go from short lashes to lashes that look like you have dramatic volumized lashes, but the lift does make them more noticable. I have shields and rods. Shields are more for those with short lashes and give more of an eyelash curler look. Where as the rods give lashes a curl at the end.
-
CAN I WEAR MASCARA?Yes! You can wear mascara with as long as it's been 24 hours since your appointment. I do not recommend waterproof mascara as it leaves behind a film on the lashes and can be very hard to remove, causing damage to the lashes.
-
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?Lash lifts and tints on average can last on average 6-8 weeks. It varies from client to client and what your at-home routine is and your lashes growth cycle as well.
-
AFTER CARE:- Do not wet your lashes for at least 24 hours. After 24 hours you can wet them and wear mascara. - Try to sleep on your back the first 24 hours. Laying on your side can cause your lashes to settle criss cross. If your lashes tend to appear dry, you can apply a lash serum on it once a day that will help keep them nourished. As with the hair on your head, you want to keep your lashes healthy and moisturized.
